September 18, 2009 - Transcript of the video announcement.

Thank you to WPXI for coming and airing my announcement.

Good afternoon and thank you for coming. My name is Rich Gordon; I am pleased to announce that I am an Independent candidate running for the office of Governor, I am running for the people of Pennsylvania, for our children and grandchildren, if the same politicians keep making the same decisions then the big corporations will grow more powerful and we the people will have very little confidence in our future. When I told my friends that I was interested in running for governor they asked what political experience do I have, my response is none, I have no idea how to take money from big corporations, or how to make decisions based on how it will affect my political career or benefit the corporations that have paid my way. I am not a politician. I would like to become your public servant. When I told my daughter I was interested in running for governor and that others questioned my qualifications, she told me I am more than qualified by being a resident of Pennsylvania, at least 30 years old and I have the desire to serve the people of Pennsylvania. Our founding fathers also had the desire to help their fellow neighbors. They were not career politicians and they created a government that was unique to their time. My goal as Governor is to return to how our founding fathers intended our government to function and when the government worked for the people.

I am running my campaign differently than what has been done by others. I am doing what most politicians fail to do, I am listening to you. I have created a website that has information about my campaign; this will be my main communication with you. There is a forums page, email address and my statements will be available on my website as well as YouTube and Facebook. This will be how we will communicate with each other. With today’s internet access there is no need to spend ten million dollars or more to win an election for a position that pays around 150,000 dollars a year.  I need you to tell me the issues you would like to be addressed. By reaching out to you, we can determine the issues that are most important to the people of Pennsylvania and address those issues.

On my website there is a page entitled Help Wanted, I am looking for all the help you are willing to offer. This campaign is not going to be easy.  It is time to use your power of the vote to remove career politicians that answer to the corporations. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a public servant in office that answers to you?  Send me to Harrisburg and I will take you with me. Together we can make Pennsylvania the Keystone state that holds this country together for a second time.

The website address is www.gordonforpagovernor.com

Thank you for listening to me, I am ready to listen to you.

Hello, my name is Rich Gordon; I am pleased to announce that I am an Independent candidate running for the office of Governor for the state of Pennsylvania. I am running for the people of Pennsylvania and for our children and grandchildren, if the same politicians keep making the same decisions then the big corporations will grow even bigger and we the people will have very little confidence in our future. When I told my friends that I was considering running for governor they asked what political experience do I have, my response is none, I have no idea how to take money from big corporations, or how to make decisions based on how it will affect my political career or benefit the corporations that have paid my way. I am not a politician. I would like to become your public servant. When I told my daughter I was considering running and that others questioned my qualifications, she told me I am more than qualified by being a resident of Pennsylvania, older than 30 and I have the desire to serve the people of Pennsylvania. Our founding fathers also had the desire to help their fellow neighbors. They were not career politicians and they created a government that was unique to their time. My goal as Governor is to return back to how our founding fathers intended our government to function and when the government worked for the people.

I am running my campaign differently than what has been done before. I have created a website that has information about my campaign; this will be my main communication with you. There is a forums page, email address and my statements are available on my site as well as YouTube and Facebook. This will be how we will communicate with each other. With today’s internet access there is no need to spend ten million dollars to win an election for a position that pays around 150,000 dollars a year.  I need you to tell me the issues you would like to be addressed in our state. By reaching out to you, we can determine the issues that are most important to the people and address those issues.

On my website there is a page entitled Help Wanted, I am looking for all the help you are willing to offer. This is not going not be easy. However, it is time for you to say enough is enough and vote out the career politicians that answer to the corporations. Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone in office that answers to you?  Send me to Harrisburg and I will take you with me. Together we can make Pennsylvania the Keystone state that holds this country together for a second time.
